Using a Sample File

To aid with the configuration of mail piece detection and to determine what is used to preview the detection of mail pieces, a sample file (PDF document) can be opened.

Opening

To open a sample file, perform the following actions:

1.	Select a Task.

2.	Open the Mail Piece Detection tab (Fig. 22)

3.	Click the Load Sample button.

4.	In the Browse dialog (Fig. 15) locate then select the required PDF document.

5.	Click the OK button.

If the selected PDF document is particularly large (i.e. it contains a large number of pages and/or has a large file size), a “loading” message may appear in the Sample file area until the first page is loaded.

When a PDF document is opened, its first page appears in the Mail Piece Detection tab and each of its pages can be navigated and magnified.

NOTE:

Only the first 100 pages of a PDF document are opened.

Navigating

The Mail Piece Detection tab (Fig. 22) contains buttons (Fig. 23) for navigating pages in a multi-page sample file.

Click a button to move to the first page, previous page, next page or last page of the open sample file.

Magnifying

To help with the positioning of boundaries when defining first page and last page identification rules, the current page of the sample file can be magnified. A slider control (Fig. 24) is provided to enable this.

To move the slider control button and subsequently magnify the page, perform the following actions:

1.	Position the mouse pointer over the slider control button.

2.	Click then hold the mouse button.

3.	Move the slider to the left to reduce the magnification or right to increase the magnification.

Moving the slider control button to the far left displays the entire page.
