OMR Mark Settings

OMR mark settings appear on the Select Marks sub-tab (Fig. 37) on the OMR Marks tab (Fig. 30). Each can be added to an OMR configuration, ordered and removed.

To open the Select Marks sub-tab, perform the following actions:

1.	Select, add, copy or import an OMR configuration.

2.	Click the Select Marks button (Fig. 38).

The following OMR marks are provided:

Name	Other Names	Description
BLANK		A blank space the size of one mark plus the pitch.
BOC	Beginning Beginning of Collation	Beginning of collation.
EOC	End End of Collation Insert	Identifies the last sheet of a collation.
FEEDER		Base 2 sequence of which feeders to use. Normally appears on last page.
GATE	Start Bench Mark (B/M) Reading Check Mark	Identifies the first sheet of a collation.
NOT BOC		Not beginning of collation.
NOT EOC		Not beginning of end of collation.
PARITY		Used if other marks total an odd number so the number of marks becomes even. If the Parity on Even Count setting is selected then it is used if other marks total an even number so the number of marks becomes odd.
SAFETY		Usually the last mark to make sure the paper is not misaligned.
SEQUENCE	Sequence Matching Verification	Verifies that each collation contains the correct number of sheets in the correct order.
STOP		Stop the folder inserter after a specific page determined by the Stop Mark on Page setting.
VOID		A blank space the size of the pitch.

 

NOTE:

The following OMR mark settings are also provided:

Setting	Description
Stop Mark on Page	Determines whether the STOP mark causes the folder inserter to stop on Every page, First page or Last page.
Parity on Even Count	Determines whether the PARITY mark is used when other marks total an even number instead of an odd number.

 

Adding an OMR Mark

To add an OMR mark to an OMR configuration, perform the following actions:

1.	Open the Select Marks sub-tab (Fig. 37).

2.	In the Available Mark list click the name of an OMR mark to select it.

3.	Click the left arrow.

The name of the OMR mark appears in the Mark Order list.

Ordering OMR Marks

To move an OMR mark up or down in the Mark Order list, perform the following actions:

1.	Open the Select Marks sub-tab (Fig. 37).

2.	In the Mark Order list click the name of an OMR mark to select it.

3.	Click the up arrow to move the selected OMR mark up the list, or click the down arrow to move the selected OMR mark down the list.

Removing an OMR Mark

To remove an OMR mark from the Mark Order list, perform the following actions:

1.	Open the Select Marks sub-tab (Fig. 37).

2.	In the Mark Order list click the name of an OMR mark to select it.

3.	Click the right arrow.
