Windows XP SP2 Compliance
Funasset are pleased to announce that all of its applications that are designed to operate on the Windows XP platform are fully compliant with Service Pack 2 (SP2)
Windows XP SP2 is slowly being rolled out to users throughout August and will soon be available on the Windows Automatic Update site.
Many security issues that have plagued Windows XP in the past have been addressed in the release, with Microsoft adopting a ‘secure by default’ approach to configuration settings. The result of this has caused a large number of ‘heavyweight’ applications such as PageMaker 7, WordPerfect Office 11, Norton Antivirus 2003 and even Excel 2003 to behave differently in Windows XP SP2. The full list of applications that may experience issues can be found on the following Microsoft URL:

Mark Dowson, Funasset’s Technical Director states: “Even though our software has been checked for SP2 compatibility, we recommend that enterprises thoroughly test all applications involved in their print production process before full corporate roll outs of the update are implemented.”
Funasset’s software has always been developed to help ensure that it is immediately available to users, without change, when an update to Windows is made. This enables Funasset’s software engineers to make better use of their time developing products such as the new data transform and composition application called Transposer (due for release in 2005), instead of rewriting code in order to make things work with the latest Microsoft operating system update!
