Mail Markup Pro runs as a Windows service and once configured continuously monitors folders for PDF documents. When a PDF document is detected the mail pieces it contains are identified, optional digital inserts are appended, and OMR marks are applied prior to printing.

“Unlike our Office version, Mail Markup Pro is designed to automatically apply OMR marks to mail pieces en masse,” states Mark Dowson, Managing Director of Funasset. “Any volume of PDF documents containing any number of mail pieces can be thrown at Pro and it will apply OMR marks without further user intervention.”

Mail Markup Pro supports OMR marks used by leading folder inserter manufacturers such as Formax, FP, Hasler, Kern, Neopost and Pitney Bowes, and pre-defined OMR mark configurations can even be downloaded from the Funasset website then imported.

A command line facility is provided with Mail Markup Pro so its functionality can be used seamlessly by third-party applications. “The command line exe together with the file name of an XML file and a PDF document simply need to be called,” comments Mark. “Mail Markup Pro then processes the PDF document and outputs the mail pieces it contains based upon the configuration information contained in the XML file.”
