PDF Processing Hangs

  • SilentPrint

Problem

Printing of PDFs or conversion of files to PDF appears to hang.

Solution

Sometimes printing a batch of PDFs or converting a group of supported file types to PDFs appears to hang mid-process. One possible cause of this is the intervention of the automatic Updater that is built in to Adobe products.

SilentPrint is constantly opening and closing Adobe processes as it operates in the background and if the Updater activates to check for new software versions or patches from the Adobe website while this processing is going on it is likely to interfere with the operation of SilentPrint.

We advise that you ensure the Updater is configured so that updates take place automatically at a time when SilentPrint is not processing or that you configure manual updates only.

The same is true of the Improvement Progam Options. Both features are accessed via the Help menu in later versions of Adobe products.
