Problem

When installing SilentPrint3 an error occurs stating .NET must be installed. This is despite Windows having .NET 4.0 or higher already installed. .NET 2.0 is required by SilentPrint3 and it will therefore need to be enabled in Windows.

Solution

To enable .NET 2.0 (.NET 3.0 and .NET 3.5), perform the following actions in Windows:

1. Open Windows Control Panel.
2. Click the Turn Windows features on or off link in the side panel to open the Windows Features window.
3. Make sure the .Net Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0) checkbox is selected.
4. Click the OK button.

Following installation of any .NET components, attempt to install SilentPrint3 again.
