Hybrid Mail Solution Launched

Funasset launch a hardware and software solution that enables users to conveniently prepare, manage and post their mail, while reducing costs and manual intervention

Funasset's hybrid mail solution consists of a web interface, a print client and an API, each of which can be optionally used to prepare and print mail documents from anywhere – making it perfect for remote workers and multi-site organisations. Mail is transmitted to an in-house central server, printed on a single production or departmental printer, then inserted and sealed in an envelope ready for delivery by the Royal Mail.

“The hybrid mail mailing process is completely seamless,” states Mark Dowson, Managing Director of Funasset. “Users can prepare their mail using the solution's web interface, any Windows application such as Word, or their own in-house software, then click a button and be assured it will be handed over to Royal Mail for delivery.”

With an entire organisation’s mail arriving at a central location, quantities required to receive a Royal Mail discount are more easily attained. “We often find individuals, offices and departments handle their own mail, meaning minimum volumes are rarely achieved,” comments Mark. “Central printing and finishing means an organisation is more likely to benefit from the higher Royal Mail discount rates.”

For organisations wishing to eliminate or reduce in-house printing and finishing, Minkz Mail has an option to transmit UK-destined mail to a leading UK mail delivery company for processing by their hybrid mailing system – developed by Funasset and managed by its subsidiary company, Integrated Document Solutions (IDS).

Not only does the hybrid mail system eliminate localised printer click and consumable overheads, it also dramatically reduces an organisation’s carbon footprint. Mark explains: “Mail is transmitted and printed at a depot closest to its destination, meaning transportation within the UK is kept to a minimum.”

The cost savings that can be gained from using hybrid mail can be substantial. If only 1000 large letter mail pieces are processed each day, a saving of up to 60% can be achieved compared to traditional mailing processes. For larger quantities of mail or if the hybrid mail system is used, the savings are even more impressive.
