MS Office Printing Problem -
Problem
There is a known issue where communication between MS Office products and SilentPrint is occasionally interrupted.
Solution
If you are having problems processing Microsoft Office documents, check the SilentPrint log file for the following message:
printFile_DOC: m_wordApp->GetVersion() failed: 'The RPC server is unavailable'
If the message above appears in the log file, perform the following:
1. Open the SilentPrint Global Options dialog by clicking the Global Options option on the SilentPrint menu;
2. Click the Compatibility tab (versions 2.83 onwards);
3. Click the Microsoft Office Compatibility Mode checkbox to add a tick to it;
4. Click the OK button to close the SilentPrint Global Options dialog.
Enabling the Microsoft Office Compatibility Mode forces Microsoft Office processes to open and close on a per document basis. This helps to ensure that communication between these processes and SilentPrint remains intact.
NOTE: The Microsoft Office Compatibility Mode may cause a slight reduction in processing speed.
